Application The new level transmitters of the Micropilot FMR6xB family combine the benefits of 80 GHz technology with the maximum device safety defined by international standard IEC 61508 for functional safety. Wizards for start-up activities and repeat testing help to ensure easy commissioning and simplified test routines, including documentation, and enable maximum plant availability. A new, innovative radar chip developed in accordance with SIL requirements (IEC 61508) improves dynamic per formance. Optimized evaluation algorithms ensure reliable measurements with no signal loss even under harsh condi tions or very large measuring ranges. Reduced dimensions with new compact single-chamber enclosures enable installation in confined installation situations. In addition to the proven Profibus PA and HART inter faces, the new Ethernet-APL interface provides easy device access and reduces installation effort. New device variants make it possible to cater for process temperatures from -196°C to +450°C, which opens up new applications for the proven 80 GHz technology. New and simplified Heartbeat Monitoring functionalities augment the existing features and expand the possibilities for use in respect of predictive maintenance and process monitoring via the user-friendly SmartBlue app or directly integrated control system.
